Fri, 18 May 2012 13:34:37 -0600WeeblyMon, 20 Sep 2010 13:57:25 -0600http://www.ouespto.com/1/post/2010/09/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit1.htmlWhat a fantastic start to the 2010-2011 school year!  Hopefully everyone is getting to know their teachers, the parents, and the kids in class.  It is such a fun (and busy) time of year, but it is so exciting!  The PTO has been very busy too with our annual membership drive and collecting information for the directory, class parties, and teacher appreciation.  The OUES Directory has been sent to the printers, and we hope to have it back and ready for distribution soon.  We, like everyone else, also face some challenges as we have received fewer funds than last year, but we still think we can have great parties for the kids and have wonderful teacher appreciation celebrations thanks to the hard work of our volunteers!  I am so excited about our Innisbrook Fundraiser which was very successful!!    We exceeded the goal we had set by approximately 20%!!  What a fabulous job our fundraising volunteers have done so far and what a great job by the kids and parents working to make Innisbrook sales!  Our next exciting event is the Old Union County Fair coming October 15!  It is going to be a time for celebrating Old Union as the first one-room school-house in the area, a time for celebrating our kids with games and events, and celebrating our school by raising money to be used to benefit our current school house, OUES!  Hope to see y'all at the coming County Fair!!  Thank you for all of the participation from all of the parents and teachers these first weeks of school. ]]>Mon, 16 Aug 2010 12:48:49 -0600http://www.ouespto.com/1/post/2010/08/last-week-before-school-starts.htmlWell, it’s almost here:  the anxiousness, chaos, and excitement of the 2010-2011 school year!  This week we should have that all-important information on the teachers and kids we will be getting to know this year and enjoying the last of sleeping in and no homework.  Hopefully everyone is ready!  I know our Executive Board is very excited about the fun and important things we have planned for the year.  We will be starting our social calendar with the get-together at Skatetown this Friday (8/20) and then the Ice Cream Social next Thursday (8/26).  It should be a fun time to get together and see old friends and meet new ones.   We can’t wait to get started!!  If it is anything like the summer, we will blink, and it will be time for the Holiday Break (and won’t we welcome the hopefully cooler weather by then!) ]]>Mon, 02 Aug 2010 07:26:34 -0600http://www.ouespto.com/1/post/2010/08/22-days-until-the-first-day-of-school.htmlCan you believe only 22 more days until the first day of school, but who is counting??
It has been a fast summer with lots of activity at Old Union.  I know I can't wait to go inand see the new entrance which will keep our kids safer and the new Promethium Boards which will make our kids smarter and more engaged!  What a great school we have and a great year which to look forward.
 Please put two special PTO events on your calendars:August 21 for the Skate Party at Skatetown.  The PTO sponsors these events to welcome new and returning students and their families.  We love to get to know and celebrate our families.  See y'all soon!!]]>
